We know that UV resin and resin artistry is a way of life, and a way of expressing ourselves and creating something truly unique. It's about pushing creative boundaries and trying new things, and that's pretty exciting to us!

We're going to explore the possibilities of UV resin and epoxy, from the basics of how it works to the latest and greatest techniques for creating stunning works of art. And along the way, we're going to have a lot of fun. Because let's face it, working with Resin Rocker products IS FUN! So, whether you're a beginner or a resin art novice, there's a place for you at Resin Rockers.  Grab your safety goggles, put on your favorite rock n roll tunes, and let's get started.

Welcome to UV Resin 101, where we'll be taking a closer look at the ins and outs of this fascinating material. As a Resin Rocker, you're probably familiar with UV resin and its many applications, but did you know that it's been around since the 1960s? That's right, UV Resin has been rockin' for decades, and it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon!

So, what is UV resin and how does it actually work? If you’re familiar with these products, you know that often times using resin or epoxy means mixing two parts: a resin component and a hardener component.  Both components are made up of a variety of chemicals that work together to create the sticky liquid substance we know as epoxy.  Once mixed, the two components cure by way of a chemical reaction and create a solid form of plastic.  UV resin contains the same components as epoxy, but with one convenient superstar addition: photo initiators.  Simply stated, photo initiators are chemicals that harden when they are exposed to UV light—a process called photopolymerization.  When exposed to UV light, the molecules in the resin undergo a chemical reaction, linking together to form a solid, durable material. This means that you can cure UV resin in a matter of minutes, rather than waiting hours for traditional epoxy resins to dry!

Of course, as with any art material, it's important to take safety seriously when working with UV resin. Be sure to wear protective nitrile gloves and eye wear and work in a very well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling any fumes. We recommend that you cure your UV resin art with the MagicCure LED Lamp so you can be sure that the wattage and timer is at the correct level for your project.  Regardless of which UV lamp you are using to cure your resin, be sure to keep it at a safe distance from your eyes and skin!

Now, let's get to the fun stuff. UV resin is incredibly versatile and can be used for a VAST range of art projects. From jewelry making to casting in molds, this stuff is the real rock star. And because Resin Rockers UV Resin cures so quickly, you can experiment and create multiple projects in one sitting!  There is no limit to the things that you can add to your UV resin to customize your art and create totally unique effects.  Adding pigments can give it a wide range of colors and shades, and there are many types of pigments available including mica powders, and liquid pigments like Resin Rocker Thickquid!  Of course, glitter is another popular addition to UV resin—from microfine to chunky to holographic shapes, you can add just about ANY glitter and let your imagination run wild.  Let’s not forget inclusions like alcohol inks and polymer clay shapes as well: as you can see, the options are only as limited as your creativity!

So, there you have it, UV Resin 101. We hope you've enjoyed this brief tour of this fascinating material, and that you're feeling inspired to rock out with Resin Rockers UV resin of your own. Remember to always put safety first, and let your creativity run wild!!!
