Slightly Viscous, High Clarity, and Low-Heat When Mixing

VERY LITTLE BUBBLES. Clarity will be restored after just a few short minutes of stirring. PRO TIP: To reduce the number of micro-bubbles, it is important to bathe your resin in warm water for at least 15 minutes prior to mixing. Remember to stir slowly, let your resin rest for 5-10 minutes, and pour no deeper than 1/4". Then hit it with some heat to eliminate bubbles (hot air gun, heat gun). This resin, like all 1:1 mixes, will only be clear if you pour in thin layers and get the bubbles out with each layer. It is important to pour while the first layer is still sticky.

We recommend a maximum of 24-36W for your MagicCure™️UV lamp.

 Please note: Higher wattages are ok but this is a fast curing resin so you must cure for less time under the lamp. Curing for too long at a high wattage can cause any UV resin (all brands) to slightly yellow. Higher wattages can also emit more fumes so it is best to go with the lower wattage if you can.

FAQs and Tips:

• If using a mold, only use one that is stable enough to hold the shape of the resin as it cures or it will warp. We have a list of UV approved molds on our website.
• Be sure to work in thin layers for best results when using a deeper mold. It can cure up to 1/2 inch or so as long as the light can penetrate all the way through. It helps to cure on the top for 60 seconds, then flip the mold over and cure a little on the bottom.
• DO NOT USE MOLDS THAT ARE SOLID COLORS - ONLY WORKS IN TRANSPARENT MOLDS!
• If adding metallic flake inclusions, let the piece cool 1-2 minutes after the cure. It can get hot.

Resin Rockers Skim Coat is the first UV Resin geared towards full coverage, quick coating for pen making, and other items such as scissor handles, badge clippers, handheld tools, and more! It has a self-leveling property that works just like epoxy and is built for paper thin coats. It is perfect for glittering your projects!

FULL COVERAGE WITHOUT THE PAINT! As long as you are using a full coverage glitter, you will not need to paint your pens prior to glittering. Just sand, resin, glitter, and resin! DONE!

Lamp Wattage and Cure Time
We recommend using a 24-54W UV lamp - the higher the wattage the faster the cure. You may go up in wattage if you prefer, however keep in mind the higher the wattage, the more fumes you will emit. 

Uses

Very Thin Coats Done in Layers & Glazing
Great for layering thin coats with a gloved finger (Finger Cot) or thin silicone brush or paint brush. If coating pens, this formula is more viscous, allowing you to coat quicker and more even.

Repair & Adhesion
Adhere phone grip or badge reel blanks, rhinestones or pearls to your pieces (great to bling up your pens)

Sealing, and Protection
Finish custom pens or other pieces that require a thin coat while providing maximum UV protection to prevent yellowing over time

*Pro Tip: If adhering UV resin to a piece that was coated with epoxy first, sand lightly with 1200+ grit sandpaper and wipe clean with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth

How to Coat with UV Resin Skim Coat:

Gloved Finger
Prep piece as directed and make sure it is clean. Using a gloved finger, squeeze a small amount directly onto the piece you would like to skim coat. In the same direction, run your gloved finger along the piece until an even coat is achieved. Add glitter or vinyl if you choose. Allow the resin to self-level and then cure under the lamp for 60-180 seconds. Repeat until you reach desired look.

What Products Can I Use with Resin Rockers UV Resin Skim Coat:

Glitter
Only use polyester glitter formulated for resin (PET). Do not use too much or your piece may be brittle. Resin makes the piece more durable and there needs to be enough of it throughout.

Pro Pearl Mica Pigment Powder
Use Pro Pearl sparingly (a dusting). If you use too much it will not cure properly.
